Bournemouth Male Voice Choir

September 21, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Bournemouth Male Voice Choir is a world class male voice choir and Nailsworth Rotary are delighted that they have agreed to perform for us as a fundraiser for a whole weekend of concerts. These are:

  • Thursday evening 19th September 2019 at the Egypt Mill Nailsworth
  • Friday lunchtime 20th September 2019 at Gloucester Cathedral with a special showcase performance of Avia Maria in the Lady Chapel
  • Friday evening 20th September – Sacred music, but with a little of their own special twist included in the programme. The Stuart Singers will also be joining the choir for a set and a joint number
  • Saturday evening 21st September – the final concert at Stroud Brewery, at its new venue.

The choir is unique in the British Men’s Choir scene and is best known for its diverse programming, use of stagecraft and themed concerts.  They take their singing (but not themselves) seriously with a relaxed, well focussed but good-humoured air permeating all the choir’s activities.

They will sing anything, as long as it’s good of its type, so they are not a traditional male voice choir. They programme each concert individually touching on as many different styles and genres as they reasonably can.

Many of their arrangements are either written especially for the choir or are tailored to their resources. Stagecraft, choreography and a great deal of Joie de vivre go into making the sets a lot of fun for them and for their audiences.

Their concerts are almost always for good causes and over the past ten years the choir has helped raise over £100,000 for charitable works.

Nailsworth Rotary is grateful to Bournemouth Male Voice Choir who will be performing on four separate occasions to raise funds for Nailsworth Rotary charitable causes.

The choir is self-funding and will be paying their own way with their costs borne by their members.
