We recently showcased our organic beers alongside other local breweries in the Real Ale Marquee at the annual Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival in Montpellier Gardens, Cheltenham.
Plenty of loyal Stroud Brewery fans and landlords called by to enjoy the seven different casks and kegs we had taken along. We were complimented on our beers by CAMRA members and introduced many more people to the delights of our award winning products. We sold out of Hop Drop and Resolution on the first day of the show and both Alederflower on cask and Schwarzwalder on keg also proved to be extremely popular.
Our good friends at Brewerism chose our S’Wheat, American-style wheat beer, to pair with the delicious Worcester Hop cheese (also known as Herfordshire Hop) at their beer and cheese pairing talk on the Sunday. We sampled it ourselves and can highly recommend the combination. The Cheeseworks in Cheltenham stock the Worcester Hop if you are interested in trying it out for yourself. You can purchase cans of S’Wheat from the brewery, our online shop and many good bottle shops.
After overhearing the well-known TV food and drink expert, Oz Clarke, discussing the importance of organic and sustainable farming practices during his wine masterclass, we decided that we needed to have a chat with him and introduce him to our own organic beers. It transpired though that we were already on his radar, he sought us out so he could try out the beers for himself!
Oz was very charming and complimentary about our beers, especially Budding, Hop Drop and Alederflower. Which is a huge honour from someone with such a great palate. He took a few moments to join us for a photo (and a laugh), then set off with a can of Alederflower to enjoy on the train home!
