I have been brewing at Stroud Brewery since 2014. But I am excited to be taking on a new role as Production Manager to meet the growing needs of the business.
With an academic background in science and agriculture, and previous roles in geoconservation, biodiversity and working as a chef, I had a rather indirect route in to the industry (I have discovered that is not uncommon). I have had a lifelong exposure to CAMRA, and have long enjoyed drinking ale. I love working for a local organisation with such a strong focus on ethics and sustainability, and brewing great tasting real ale. My favourite year round Stroud Brewery beer is Tom Long, however as a fan of darker beers, I do particularly look forward to the seasonal appearances of Schwarzwälder and Shadow.
As with many brewers I have had a varied CV before settling on brewing. After finishing a Management based degree I had various jobs including working with children with autism, running a factory and a sandwich shop (not at the same time) and travelling around the world to tennis events which allowed me to experience many cultures and even more beers.
My interest in baking led me down the path of food and drink production. With this, and experiencing the craft beer revolution, the job at Stroud Brewery stood out to me as being perfect. I love a pint of Regulate.
I have always loved drinking ale and have keenly home brewed beers for many years. When given the opportunity to join the brew team I obviously leapt at it and haven't looked back.
This is such an exciting time for food and drink in this country that to be involved with the craft ales industry feels like a dream come true. My job involves so many challenges and opportunities to learn, whilst remaining hands on and practical. I enjoy learning from lots of like minded and knowledgeable people across the beer supply chain.
Making beers from scratch is so satisfying and I'm always excited about how the next one is going to taste. My favourite beer is S’Mild served with a sparkler.
After running a bowling alley for a few years, coming to work in a brewery was quite a change. There was so much that I had no idea about when it comes to actually producing real ale, let alone organic.
I have enjoyed learning about all the different processes involved from the initial stages right through to racking, bottling and selling. I may have even sampled one or five now as well, with my favourite’s being Hop Drop in bottle and S’Wheat in can. Outside of the brewery I am still enjoying bowling. I help to run a youth bowling club and still bowl for the county team every year - if I make it through qualifying!
I first worked for Stroud Brewery at the 10th Birthday Festival in 2016, joining the team properly in early 2017 to sell beer with Ian. My job developed into a marketing role as the two roles seem to go hand in hand. I love being part of a business that has strong ethical values, is mindful of its impact on the environment and is deeply committed to being a hub for our community. The only bad thing is the tiny office!
I love drinking OPA, whilst watching the sunset at The Crown. And I’m a massive fan of S’Wheat.
Having spent my early career organising events all over the UK, I soon found myself pursuing a career in PR and was luckily enough to follow my passion and specialise in food and drink and as they say... the rest is history! I thrive on creating on-brand campaigns that really make a difference. My innovative and strategic thinking, strong understanding of what makes brands tick and extensive little black book of contacts ensures that we deliver innovative and authentic campaigns for Stroud Brewery.
Favourite Stroud Brewery tipple? Has to be Hop Drop!
I've led a varied career, ranging from corporate Market Analyst to self-employed landscaper.
I've always had an interest in Stroud Brewery from its conception because of the quality of its beer, its local focus and its ethical standpoint. I joined the team of two in 2010 and after brewing beer for three years I moved on to selling beer and office duties.
My favourite in-house tipple has to be IPA at the moment. It has all the attributes of a great standout beer: great robust body, zesty aroma and a lovely refreshing taste.
My pub of choice would be the Alehouse, in Stroud for choice of beer and the Wild Duck at Ewen for sheer old pub charm.
I arrived at the brewery around 2016. Our small bar team has the privilege of keeping our ever-evolving bar open every Thursday, Friday & Saturday alongside Velo Bakery. We do it for good food, good beer and a great social environment within one of the most unique towns in the Cotswolds. The company strongly believes in the worth of community and has created a great space to bring it together.
I have been working with Stroud Brewery since 2006, delivering their beer to pubs and beer festivals all over the region. I am proud to deliver Stroud beers and strive to provide a reliable and efficient service. I set up The Good Beer Company in 1996 and am a mine of information about beer.
My favourite Stroud Brewery cask beer is Budding. In bottle I love Hop Drop and S’Wheat is my can of choice.
I have always had a disproportionate interest in beer. Shortly after moving to Stroud events gave just enough time to allow all the talk of running a brewery to come to life. And there hasn't been any spare time since!
I manage the team and 'projects' - always with an eye on developing the business. When the day is done, I am also a Parish Councillor, and a Director of Stroud Common Wealth. Stroud Common Wealth works to support local social enterprises - businesses that re-invest their profits to deliver social aims.
Budding was our first brew and is my go to beer, but I’ll give all our creations a good go!
As a frequent customer and fan of Stroud Brewery I jumped at the chance to work on the brewery bar back in 2015. Eventually, an opportunity arose to use my experience in events and I took on the role of Events Co-ordinator, organising and running events at the brewery as well as outside bars and festivals. I also provide marketing support and am responsible for the booking of our live music programme.
A big plus point for me is working for a company that is committed to producing as organically and sustainably as possible. The beer is pretty good too! My personal favourite is Melissa, but Alederflower and IPA are close behind.
I am a bookkeeper, based in Stroud, the town my family and I fell in love with over 10 years ago. Our origins are in Romania.
I have been working with Greg since 2008, assisting with accounts and payroll admin. I have seen the business grow and it’s exciting to see it constantly evolving, the ideas keep flowing and it’s never boring. We share a laugh and the work atmosphere is always friendly and fair - like the owner!
When not going through ledgers, I love reading, cycling (with my kids) and walking around the Stroud hills. I love summer, the perfect time of year for a crisp Premium Organic Lager.
