A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US
I have been brewing at Stroud Brewery since 2014. But I am excited to be taking on a new role as Production Manager to meet the growing needs of the business.
With an academic background in science and agriculture, and previous roles in geoconservation, biodiversity and working as a chef, I had a rather indirect route in to the industry (I have discovered that is not uncommon). I have had a lifelong exposure to CAMRA, and have long enjoyed drinking ale. I love working for a local organisation with such a strong focus on ethics and sustainability, and brewing great tasting real ale. My favourite year round Stroud Brewery beer is Tom Long, however as a fan of darker beers, I do particularly look forward to the seasonal appearances of Schwarzwälder and Shadow.
My passion for artisan food and drink started in the North East where I was sales manager for a local cheese company. I’ve now swapped the North East for the South West and cheese for beer, what an exciting time! I love that all of our beers are 100% organic and produced in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way. If you are interested in stocking our beer in trade or retail, or even just fancy a chat and a pint, I look forward to speaking with you, please do get in touch.
My favourite beer is a can of Alederflower sat around the campfire after a day of mountain biking - perfect!
I come to Stroud with nearly fifteen years experience brewing locally - having produced everything from lagers, ales and craft beers in cask, bottle, can and keg. Hopefully I can bring some of this knowledge to the brew team in order to keep Stroud beers tasting great.
I have always had strong community values so working for an organic producer with similar local and ethical views is something that I feel is important for everyone and the planet, and making beer with organic ingredients that are produced locally fits with me and my family's green outlook. I believe that over time businesses in this country will have to move to a more organic and sustainable model - so we could be seen as pioneers here at Stroud.
I enjoy travel and trying beers wherever I go, and I don't have a particular favourite type or style (I'll drink anything!) but I really enjoy our Premium and Light Lagers...great in our sunny beer garden by the canal.
I have always had a disproportionate interest in beer. Shortly after moving to Stroud events gave just enough time to allow all the talk of running a brewery to come to life. And there hasn't been any spare time since!
I manage the team and 'projects' - always with an eye on developing the business. When the day is done, I am also a Parish Councillor, and a Director of Stroud Common Wealth. Stroud Common Wealth works to support local social enterprises - businesses that re-invest their profits to deliver social aims.
Budding was our first brew and is my go to beer, but I’ll give all our creations a good go!
I come to Stroud brewery with 8 years of experience in the drinks industry with the majority of my time spent as a Winemaker in the UK and New Zealand.
I have always had a passion for beer and when the opportunity came up for an Assistant brewer position I jumped at the chance. The breweries approach to organic and sustainable production really drew me to the company, not forgetting they make fantastic beer! Outside of work I enjoy being outside and active including surfing in the Gower and rock climbing in the Alps.
Bar & Events Manager
Joining the team in May 2019, becoming the Bar and Events manager I was very excited to get stuck in with this role. After starting my career in hospitality from an early age, working in restaurants, kitchens and bars around Stroud I moved to London in 2013 where I ran various bars and became involved in the live events in the festival circuit. This exciting role within the brewery brings together all the best parts of my experiences and I wish to bring some of the most exciting and interesting events, acts, music, talks, workshops, dances and much more for all the while keeping the legacy of the Stroud Brewery Bar going.
If you have any ideas from small to large, serious to the wacky I want to hear from so please get in touch!
I started working for Stroud Brewery in 2017, on the bar. I was drawn to it's strong community feel and soon felt part of the SB family.
Having watched it grow and change the last 2 years, my role has also changed. I love interacting with customers, and responding to all their online enquires.
I have been working with Stroud Brewery since 2006, delivering their beer to pubs and beer festivals all over the region. I am proud to deliver Stroud beers and strive to provide a reliable and efficient service. I set up The Good Beer Company in 1996 and am a mine of information about beer.
My favourite Stroud Brewery cask beer is Budding. In bottle I love Hop Drop and S’Wheat is my can of choice.
I am a bookkeeper, based in Stroud, the town my family and I fell in love with over 10 years ago. Our origins are in Romania.
I have been working with Greg since 2008, assisting with accounts and payroll admin. I have seen the business grow and it’s exciting to see it constantly evolving, the ideas keep flowing and it’s never boring. We share a laugh and the work atmosphere is always friendly and fair - like the owner!
When not going through ledgers, I love reading, cycling (with my kids) and walking around the Stroud hills. I love summer, the perfect time of year for a crisp Premium Organic Lager.
I am joining Stroud Brewery having left an 11 year sales & marketing career at a corporate engineering company. In addition to this I have a background in hospitality, which has given me a good understanding of how our customers operate. I am a keen foodie and love supporting our local eateries, one of which has always been Stroud Brewery! I am a keen supporter of the ‘Shop Local’ movement and love championing all the fab independent businesses in our area, so I jumped at the chance of being able to join this ethical company and work as part of a team to continue to grow the business.
I love a pint of Budding, but will always be tempted by a seasonal!
